When we were locked down in Spring 2020 due to COVID-19, I lost both in-person art group memberships and didn't paint at all for the rest of that year -- too freaked out, stressed, anxious, frozen, isolated. In 2021, a friend recommended a Zoom group at Santa Rosa Junior College where I have since found a synergistic support that I needed to work; and other Zoom offerings for artists. Although out of isolation, I have not returned to my studio to produce oil paintings or pastels on paper without an in-person connection to other artists. Instead, I have worked only in watercolors at a desk at home because this medium lends itself to a small, quiet environment and to using Zoom.
